    Lama Chhiring Doorgee

Founder of Mt. Jannu Adventures, he is responsible for setting up your trip and the local team. He is the main point of contact for establishing quotes and advising you on the destination. A bilingual field worker, he will accompany you throughout your trek.

Chhiring is from the Solukhumbu region. He is married and the father of a little boy Pemba  Gelu.

He studied at Salleri-3, district of Solukhumbu. Lover of the mountains and nature, at the age of 19 he decided to work in trekking tourism. He started out as a porter and cook, but very quickly became a bilingual English-French guide for French agencies like Allibert, Tamera, Au bout du monde, Pédibus. He also works with the Nepalese agency Tip top trekking. In 2006, he followed a three-month training course in the mountains and received the high mountain guide diploma issued by the Nepalese tourism ministry. Thirsty for knowledge, he studied human sciences at the University of Kathmandu for a year and the French language at the Alliance Française.

In 2007, he continued on his way and decided to leave for France for 3 months. He is greeted by friends he has met during a trek. During his stay, he discovered another way of life, continued to improve his French and especially discovered the Alps during long hikes.

Then, it will be Malaysia from 2011 to 2013 for other meetings, another culture, source of personal enrichment.

As soon as he returns to Nepal he decides to leave where his heart is, in the Himalayan mountains.

We set up his team of porters, sherpas, guides and created his website on behalf of Mt. Jannu Adventures. And after 13 years of trekking, expeditions to Nepal, Sikkim, Bouthan and India, he realizes his dream: His agency is recognized in 2019 (license 2808) by the Nepalese tourism associations VTO, TAAN, and NMA.

    Why Mt. Jannu ?

Mt. Jannu (7,710m) is the 32nd highest peak in the Kumbhakarna section of the Kanchenjunga Himal, which straddles the border between Nepal and Sikkim. Jannu is entirely in Nepal. A long ridge connects it to Kanchenjunga to the east.

It's official name is Kumbhakarna but it is even more commonly called Jannu (7,710m) In Limbu, the local language, it is called Phoktanglungma.

During an expedition to the border with Sikkim in the Kanchenjunga region (8586m), Chhiring is amazed by the imposing beauty of Mt. Jannu (7710m).
